Maxine-Élise Lidman

Born and raised in Hong Kong, I acquired filmmaking and theatre experience from Chinese International School where I gained a passion for directing and made my first independent film in Hang Zhou at 15 years old. Fast-forward to university, alongside my Master of Arts degree in International Relations and Philosophy at St Andrews, I've independently produced, directed and edited my second short film 'Choosing Life', showcasing my drive for inspirational storytelling. ​

In addition to my filmmaking passions, I work as a freelance videographer and editor for multiple music event groups in St Andrews, with Haus as my main client. Haus is known for showcasing the biggest DJs in St Andrews such as Lavern and Stephani B, who have played at major festivals including Tomorrowland. My reels are consistently used to promote their events.

Finally, my other projects have included filming and editing TEDx University of St Andrews conferences, producing promotional videos for NGOs in Peru and Scotland, and most recently creating sport/athlete content.

After my graduation in 2025, I look forward to fully immersing myself in media production and developing my skills as a film director.
